Will ChatGPT Soon Be Roofing and Paving Driveways? 🦾
Probably not. But that doesn’t mean artificial intelligence is stopping at manual labor – quite the opposite 👇🏼
AI is increasingly being used in both craft and industry, as we learned during our Open Swiss Door Day at GreenPlaces Gottmadingen in an exciting talk on “AI in Craftsmanship.” But how exactly can AI be effectively applied in the skilled trades? ⚙
AI can assist with routine tasks and processes outside of actual customer orders, making operations more efficient:
đź’ˇ Job postings, newsletters, or marketing materials: AI tools like ChatGPT can simplify content creation.
đź’ˇ Production processes, quality control, inventory management, and energy consumption: AI can optimize these individually to improve efficiency.
đź’ˇ Chatbots and customer service: Automated customer communication can handle inquiries more efficiently and ease the burden on staff.
đź’ˇ Accounting: AI can support time tracking, digital invoicing, and materials management.
đź’ˇ Voice assistants and translation tools: AI can streamline scheduling, order tracking, and international communication.
👉🏼 These are just a few examples of how AI can be integrated into craftsmanship – the possibilities in the future are nearly limitless. A big thanks to Dennis Schäuble from the Chamber of Crafts in Konstanz for the inspiring presentation!
